Why I came to
Ukraine?
The GoCamp
initiative was first brought to my attention by a friend, and as soon as I saw
it I knew I had to take part. The programme combines my two favourite things:
travelling and teaching. Having toured Europe last summer, I was keen to get to
know Eastern Europe better, indeed it is not a country or a culture I was
familiar with and it has certainly been a steep learning curve. Back in the UK,
I worked for an educational charity for 2 years, and it was during this time
that I discovered my passion for teaching. Ukraine is an aspirational country,
and of course today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. GoCamp is certainly
helping to give Ukraine a bright future, and I am honoured to be a small part
of it. If you want to change the world, inspire a child!
